Repository of digital uses 2025 (Arcom les Mediathèques)
: The Pôle numérique Arcep - Arcom , created in 2020, aims to deepen the technical, economic and environmental analyses of digital markets, and to support the two regulators in the implementation of their missions in the digital field. One of the Pôle Arcep - Arcom's products is its digital usage reference system. Its aim is to provide the general public with common reference data on digital usage. By aggregating data from a variety of established sources, it provides centralized figures on fixed and mobile network rollouts, Internet access, household equipment, Internet and audiovisual usage, and the environmental footprint of digital technology. This fifth edition incorporates new themes such as time spent on screens and users' appreciation of this time spent, people's perception of artificial intelligence as a threat or an opportunity, and the latest trends in audio and video consumption, including on social networks and video-sharing platforms. On the environmental front, in addition to indicators on the e[...]
BEREC presents its assessment of the Digital Networks Act proposal (BEREC Office)
: BEREC presents its assessment of the Digital Networks Act proposal yannick.stephan Wed, 10/06/2026 - 18:07 Press Releases Europe’s electronic communications framework is entering a pivotal phase of reform, with the proposed Digital Networks Act (DNA ) set to update the regulatory framework for connectivity across the EU. BEREC welcomes the ambition of modernising the EU connectivity framework and supporting resilient, sustainable and high-quality digital networks. At the same time, the assessment highlights areas where further refinement may be needed to ensure that the future framework strengthens rather than adds unnecessary complexity to the internal market for electronic communications. BEREC has developed thematic papers examining key elements of the proposal in [...]

3 | 2021 – Penser les données par le territoire ? (Balisages)
The concept of digital landscape is mainly used to refer to town and country planning projects using digital networks and data collection and processing projects related to a geographical space (town, city, etc.). In other words, the digital landscape is often reduced to a digitally accompanied te[...]
Stick with Security: Require secure passwords and authentication (FTC USA Business Blog Posts)
: Stick with Security: Require secure passwords and authentication lfair August 11, 2017 | 10:47AM Stick with Security: Require secure passwords and authentication By Thomas B. Pahl, Acting Director, FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection To make it harder for hackers to bluff their way onto a computer network, careful companies follow the advice of Start with Security and require strong authentication practices . We’ve considered FTC settlements, closed investigations, and the questions we get from businesses about implementing good authentication “hygiene.” Here are some tips on using effective authentication procedures to help safeguard your network. Insist on long, complex, and unique passwords. A password’s very reason for being is to be easy for a user to remember, but hard for a fraudster to figure out. Obvious choices like ABCABC, 121212, or qwerty are the digital equivalent of a “hack me” sign. Furthermore, experts have determined that passphrases or longer passwords are generally harder to crack. The smar[...]
